Herbert Hoover correspondence with Frederic L. Roberts, 1937-1940.

Consists of 4 typed letters signed and one typed note signed dating from 24 May 1937 to December 1940 between Herbert Hoover and Frederic L. Roberts. Three of the letters are by Hoover thanking Roberts for his letters and the note, postmarked 27 December 1940, is from Hoover on Stanford University, California stationery with the text: "My cordial reciprocations in return, with the hope that peace and good will may come to all the world in 1941." One letter dated 7 February 1940 is addressed to Hoover in Palo Alto, California, from Roberts and tells of an encounter with a blind man who expressed to him, "I would like to meet Mr. Hoover some day and humbly beg his pardon for voting against him in 1932." Roberts goes on to offer his help in "returning a Republican to the Presidency." All 5 items include envelopes.
